A little bit about us

We are seeking a nanny in Burlington for 1 child. Our daughter Emory will be 4 months old at the start date of care. She is a great baby. I will need to resume work (both my husband and I will be home working virtually). We are trying to be as covid-safe as possible, looking for an individual doing the same. Would like a nanny experienced with infants and certified in CPR. This would be a year-long contract to start with some flexibility in hours and would be open to extending past a year. The ideal schedule to start would be Monday -Thursday 10 AM-4 PM. Our home is pet-free and close to downtown. We would like someone to be an extension of our family and would be open to you doing external activities with her (walks etc.)

Some light tidying up dishes and occasional assistance with laundry as time allows would be great.

A little bit about us

Temporary nanny needed for 21 month old son for two weeks in Burlington. We are looking for a single caretaker for two weeks M-F starting on August 5. We’d also be interested in someone who can drop our 5 year old at camp and pick her up and watch both for a few hours. Ideally, you’d walk with the baby to the 5 year old to camp and then head to the park, library, Echo Center, or some other adventure, returning for lunch and naptime. We could end the day then or you could take lunch and return for picking up the 5 year old at 3pm and take both to the park for a few hours. We’re flexible on hours but need daily care for the full period M-F. Thanks!

How to Find an Infant Care Job in Burlington, VT

If you’re looking for an infant nanny job, you’ve come to the right place! We can help you find an infant care job in your area. Start by telling families about yourself in your profile, and then chat with families to find the right fit. When you think you’ve found the right match, you can turn the discussion towards compensation and responsibilities.

What is an Infant Nanny in Burlington, VT

An infant nanny is a nanny that specializes in caring for newborns. They are skilled in diapering and providing care for any rashes, swaddling, bathing, feeding, and burping. Some infant nannies further specialize in care for premature newborns or multiples.

Preparing for a Nanny Interview for an Infant Care Position

Once you start connecting with prospective employers, the next step is an infant nanny job interview. Here is a list of some infant nanny interview questions to prepare for:

  • What is your specific experience with this age group?
  • Are you Infant CPR/First Aid certified in Burlington, VT? Are you willing to be trained?
  • How do you handle a crying baby?
  • How often do you usually offer parents updates during the day?
  • What do you feed an infant? At 0-3 months? 3-6 months? 6-9 months? 9-12 months?
  • How do you set up the infant’s crib for a nap?
  • What kind of activities will you plan to engage my baby?

You should be prepared with your references for past nanny jobs, and ideally, past infant jobs. Prior to the infant nanny interview, be sure to think about questions that you might have for the family. This is a great time to ask questions about the responsibilities and compensation for the infant nanny position. To make sure everyone has a shared understanding of the role and responsibilities, we recommend asking for a job offer or a nanny contract. By doing this, you can get off on the right foot with your future employer.
