A little bit about us

Hi! My name is Zach, my wife Erin and I live in Northfield and are looking for a nanny for part-time work during the week when we or my family are unavailable to take care of our newborn baby girl that is due Aug 25. We will probably be looking to hire someone right around the end of September.

We are looking for someone who is great with newborns and early child development. We are looking for the best fit for our family and have no issues taking our time to find the right person.

We live right in town and we both work in town. So we are not far away if there are any issues or emergencies that may arise.

The schedule for us would be 2-3 days a week sometime between Monday and Friday 7 am-4 pm. Although we are flexible and would be happy to accommodate any scheduling adjustments as needed.

We have a very busy schedule and may even need help beyond the 20 hours as we are both working artists and sometimes have gigs or rehearsals on nights and weekends. This will be an ongoing discussion and on an as-needed basis.

Please feel free to reach out with any questions you might have for us!

Preparing for a Nanny Interview for an Infant Care Position

Once you start connecting with prospective employers, the next step is an infant nanny job interview. Here is a list of some infant nanny interview questions to prepare for:

  • What is your specific experience with this age group?
  • Are you Infant CPR/First Aid certified in Northfield, VT? Are you willing to be trained?
  • How do you handle a crying baby?
  • How often do you usually offer parents updates during the day?
  • What do you feed an infant? At 0-3 months? 3-6 months? 6-9 months? 9-12 months?
  • How do you set up the infant’s crib for a nap?
  • What kind of activities will you plan to engage my baby?

You should be prepared with your references for past nanny jobs, and ideally, past infant jobs. Prior to the infant nanny interview, be sure to think about questions that you might have for the family. This is a great time to ask questions about the responsibilities and compensation for the infant nanny position. To make sure everyone has a shared understanding of the role and responsibilities, we recommend asking for a job offer or a nanny contract. By doing this, you can get off on the right foot with your future employer.
