A little bit about us

I have three girls but really only 2 of my girls need child care. Siena and Kate who’s ages are 5 &7, then I have an 11 year old who is usually at camp or with a friend but she keeps to herself. They are goofy, outgoing, and love to be on the floor playing. They love having a babysitter so I want to make sure they are comfortable with someone. I looking for someone young, patient, fun, and not afraid to be in charge, because sometimes we have to, right?:) I also expect assistance with cleaning up messes made while with the girls (dishes, toys, vacuuming), as well as assisting them with homework during school year. My oldest may need some reminding when it comes to her chores and picking up after herself, but she is very good about doing it when asked.
I would prefer they could drive and had a car, but having a car isn’t a deal breaker. Currently, my husband works in the hospital Thursday-Saturdays (sometimes overnight) and I am able to work from home on Thursday. We will need someone from 7::30- 6:30pm on Fridays. If they are able to, I’d prefer to keep someone into the fall/winter months. I don’t like changing sitters often, but understand if someone isn’t able to or if it doesn’t work out. School schedule may change depending on work and school, but we can cross that bridge when we get there. Number One is keeping them safe and everyone having a good time! They are so sweet, I think anyone would enjoy hanging out with them for the day 😁

How should I prepare for a nanny interview?

Preparing for a nanny interview is much like preparing for any other job interview. You'll want to learn about the family's needs and expectations, and be ready to provide clear, detailed answers to their questions. Don't forget to bring a list of references and any necessary certifications (like CPR or First Aid) with you. Also, consider preparing a list of questions you want to ask, such as their parenting philosophy, the children's routines, and any special needs the children might have. Get a better understanding on how to ace the nanny interview process with our helpful guide.

What does the nanny interview process look like?

The nanny interview process often involves several stages. It typically begins with a phone or video interview, followed by an in-person interview with the parents. If all goes well, the family may invite you for a "working interview," where you'll spend some time with the children under the parents' supervision. This gives everyone a chance to see how you interact with the kids. What is a nanny contract and why is it important?

A nanny contract is a written agreement between you and the family that clearly outlines job expectations, working hours, salary, benefits, and more. It's an essential part of professional nanny work because it sets clear boundaries and expectations, and can help prevent misunderstandings in the future. Our nanny contracts page provides more information on what to include in your contract.

Why should I consider using a nanny payroll service?

Using a nanny payroll service simplifies the often complex process of handling taxes, benefits, and other financial considerations of being a nanny. Many nannies are considered household employees, not independent contractors, which means that the families they work for are responsible for withholding and paying certain taxes. A nanny payroll service can help manage these tasks, ensuring everything is handled legally and accurately. For more information about nanny payroll, visit our nanny payroll page.
