A little bit about us

Seeking childcare during the summer. I am a nurse and my husband is a plumber. My son is 6 months and will be the one that needs the most reliable childcare. He is a very happy and easy doing baby. He is breastfeeding, and just beginning to be introduced to solids. My daughter is 7 years old and is signed up for summer camp - but has a lunch break from [phone number hidden] where she needs to come home. The camp is right down the street with in walking distance. She is pretty much self sufficient. We would need child care from roughly 8am - 3:30pm on varying days during the week. I have my schedule from July 18th - the first week of September that I would be able to provide.

We do have a dog named Gracie, she's an Aussie border collie mis and she is a sweetheart and loves to give hugs. We have a cat named Lola, she's old an mostly keeps to herself but is very friendly. We also have some chickens! We are not seeking pet care.

A little bit about us

Hello! My name is Tianna, I am a mother of 3 (10, 4, 1). I work overnights (10p-630a) and have to get the 2 oldest ready for school then tend to my youngest while he’s home. It’s hard to get him to nap at good times and he only sleeps 2 hours, so on average I’m bringing in 4-5 hrs of sleep a day.. I need help so I can get adequate sleep and not be a sleep deprived momma. My youngest, A’ryan, is the main child you would care for. My daughter, Analiya, gets picked up from school at 2:05 and if I can get enough uninterrupted sleep by then, that would be beyond helpful.

How should I prepare for a nanny interview?

Preparing for a nanny interview is much like preparing for any other job interview. You'll want to learn about the family's needs and expectations, and be ready to provide clear, detailed answers to their questions. Don't forget to bring a list of references and any necessary certifications (like CPR or First Aid) with you. Also, consider preparing a list of questions you want to ask, such as their parenting philosophy, the children's routines, and any special needs the children might have. Get a better understanding on how to ace the nanny interview process with our helpful guide.

What does the nanny interview process look like?

The nanny interview process often involves several stages. It typically begins with a phone or video interview, followed by an in-person interview with the parents. If all goes well, the family may invite you for a "working interview," where you'll spend some time with the children under the parents' supervision. This gives everyone a chance to see how you interact with the kids. If you're looking to find a nanny job in Rochester, you might also want to familiarize yourself with typical nanny salary rates in the area.

What is a nanny contract and why is it important?

A nanny contract is a written agreement between you and the family that clearly outlines job expectations, working hours, salary, benefits, and more. It's an essential part of professional nanny work because it sets clear boundaries and expectations, and can help prevent misunderstandings in the future. Our nanny contracts page provides more information on what to include in your contract.

Why should I consider using a nanny payroll service?

Using a nanny payroll service simplifies the often complex process of handling taxes, benefits, and other financial considerations of being a nanny. Many nannies are considered household employees, not independent contractors, which means that the families they work for are responsible for withholding and paying certain taxes. A nanny payroll service can help manage these tasks, ensuring everything is handled legally and accurately. For more information about nanny payroll, visit our nanny payroll page.
