A little bit about us

Hello! My child is 2.5 years old, he's very active and loves being outdoors. His grandma is home and helps with a lot of things but can't watch him a majority of the time. He's sweet and loving, art is another of his favorite things to do. We're looking for someone who has patience and truly cares about the kiddos they're watching. He is on a waiting list for daycare but once he gets in we will still need someone for pick up and afterwards.

A little bit about us

Looking for childcare on a rotating schedule of mostly Tuesdays and Wednesdays, occasionally Fridays, for 5-6 total days per month. My 3 year old will be in half day preschool on Tuesdays, and we will need you to pick him those days (0.8 MI walk from our house). My 3 year old will also be working on potty training this summer. My daughter will be a year old in July and is generally easy going. Both kids love being outside and my son is especially into art projects and imaginative building play. Hours are roughly 8am to 5pm on days you work, but may also have an earlier start time if that works for you. We have 2 cats, but you won't be expected to do anything for them.

How should I prepare for a nanny interview in San Antonio, TX?

Preparation for a nanny interview is key to landing the job. You should be ready to discuss your experience, skills, and approach to child care. Be prepared to answer common nanny interview questions about scenarios related to child safety, conflict resolution, and age-appropriate activities. Remember, interviews are not only about the family learning more about you but also about you getting to know the family.

What does a typical nanny interview process look like?

A typical nanny interview process usually involves an initial phone screening, followed by one or two in-person interviews. The family might ask you to interact with the children during one of these interviews. Some families may also request a trial period. This is an opportunity for both parties to ensure a good fit before committing to a formal agreement, which is usually outlined in a nanny contract.

In San Antonio, as with most nanny jobs, you'll need to undergo background checks to ensure the safety of the children you'll be caring for. Additionally, depending on the nature of the job (full-time, part-time, or summer nanny job), there might be additional considerations. For instance, a summer nanny job in San Antonio might involve taking the kids to popular summer spots like the Natural Bridge Caverns or the San Antonio River Walk. A part-time nanny job might require more flexibility in hours, while a full-time nanny job often comes with more responsibilities and therefore, a higher salary.
