A little bit about us

My kid is an only child who is 6 years old and loves to build things--whether it's LEGO sets or forts made of couch cushions or recycled cardboard boxes. Full of energy and questions, so is very chatty. She appreciates learning new things so is very open to being taught how to prepare an easy child-friendly meal, play a new boardgame, chess, a kid-friendly video game, or even a new language etc.

You can certainly go on your phone or your computer while you're caring for her as she plays LEGOs near you or reads a book, but she is also keenly aware when someone has decided to check out instead of being present. So--yeah--it's absolutely OK and understandable to have some off days when you're not 100% there for my kid (you're human, after all), but reminding her that you still care does matter to her. I hope that makes sense. Basically, I want someone who respects kids and their feelings.

Responsibilities for this job include pick up when school is dismissed and after-school care, so this would amount to about 3.5 hours a day from M-F (2:15pm-5:45pm).
