I need someone to care for my 1 year old son in my home. I would like someone who will interact with him through playing and teaching. You will need to prepare his meals and snacks and also clean up after him. I do not require for you to clean up anything other than his messes.
I am looking for part time care. The hours will be:
Wednesday 6:30am-3pm
Thursday 6:30am-4pm
Friday 6:30am-1pm
So that’s about 25 hrs a week.

How much do nannies make in Rochester, NY?
What are typical nanny responsibilities and duties?
As a nanny, your primary duty is to provide a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for the children in your care. This can include tasks such as meal preparation, assisting with homework, organizing outings, and providing age-appropriate activities. Additionally, depending on the family's needs, your responsibilities may also involve light housekeeping duties related to the children, such as cleaning up after meals and maintaining their rooms and play areas. For those seeking a nanny job in Rochester, being familiar with local kid-friendly spots like The Strong National Museum of Play or Seneca Park Zoo can be a plus. For a comprehensive look at typical nanny responsibilities, check out our guide.
How should I prepare for a nanny interview?
Preparing for a nanny interview is much like preparing for any other job interview. You'll want to learn about the family's needs and expectations, and be ready to provide clear, detailed answers to their questions. Don't forget to bring a list of references and any necessary certifications (like CPR or First Aid) with you. Also, consider preparing a list of questions you want to ask, such as their parenting philosophy, the children's routines, and any special needs the children might have. Get a better understanding on how to ace the nanny interview process with our helpful guide.
What does the nanny interview process look like?
The nanny interview process often involves several stages. It typically begins with a phone or video interview, followed by an in-person interview with the parents. If all goes well, the family may invite you for a "working interview," where you'll spend some time with the children under the parents' supervision. This gives everyone a chance to see how you interact with the kids. If you're looking to find a nanny job in Rochester, you might also want to familiarize yourself with typical nanny salary rates in the area.
What is a nanny contract and why is it important?
A nanny contract is a written agreement between you and the family that clearly outlines job expectations, working hours, salary, benefits, and more. It's an essential part of professional nanny work because it sets clear boundaries and expectations, and can help prevent misunderstandings in the future. Our nanny contracts page provides more information on what to include in your contract.
Why should I consider using a nanny payroll service?
Using a nanny payroll service simplifies the often complex process of handling taxes, benefits, and other financial considerations of being a nanny. Many nannies are considered household employees, not independent contractors, which means that the families they work for are responsible for withholding and paying certain taxes. A nanny payroll service can help manage these tasks, ensuring everything is handled legally and accurately. For more information about nanny payroll, visit our nanny payroll page.
How does Nanny Lane handle background checks?

These checks provide families with important information about a candidate's history, giving them peace of mind. As a nanny, having a clear background check can also make you a more attractive candidate to families.
