I have been a Professional Nanny for 15+ years. Not a family/friend/daycare babysitter. (Nothing wrong with any of those and I have done all three. But I do NOT count them in my years of experience as a professional Nanny.). I understand the role that a Nanny plays in family dynamics. It's a daily challange.. Keeping the children safe, happy, fed, nurtured. and secure. Keeping mom and dad confident and peaceful the children are thriving and well cared for when I am there. About me: I am a Newborn Specialist. Experienced with: All ages, twins; feeding issues, including severe to mild reflux and oral aversion. Providing in home therapies for sensory issues. And speech, physical, occupational, sight and play therapy. I have experience in the use of and care of alternate feeding methods including ng and g-tube. I am trained to use and chart daily multiple medication administration and schedule. I have cared for children with compromised immune systems and the medically necessary isolation and precautions associated with their health, safety and daily routine. Children with heart damage and lung damage associated with prematurity and multiple surgeries and re-hospitalizations. Along with associated long term daily medication and oxygen administration and monitoring. I have worked as a nanny in the NICU for many months caring for an infant whose parents had to return to work. In this environment, meeting the challenges of advocating for the parents' wishes while keeping a working relationship with the doctors and nurses. And, of course, learning all I could about the challenges we would face when we brought the child home. Researching what I could do on a daily basis to help the child catch up in every area. I have worked for doctors for many years now. They are a very strong, strong willed, intelligent group. I like that. It is challenging. But I have never backed down from a challange. And no matter how difficult, sad or frustrating things get I do not ever give up. And I do not let my families give up on any challenge we face. I am strong, opinionated, intelligent and intuitive. I can be stubborn. And so can children. They need a person who is stronger than they are. Willing to love them and guide them within the boundaries that every child needs. I love children. There is literally nothing more amazing than a child. Period.

I nanny the whole time I was in college for two different families simultaneously.they had one child each I started caring for them when they were about six months old until they started preschool.I have also babysat for children who are school-age for a period of four years I cared for them after school Monday through Friday. My favorite thing to do with children and I'm caring for is arts and crafts but I also really enjoy baking as I am a culinary trained baker and take decorator.I like going outside and writing bicycles as well as going to the zoo and playing games. I am 29 years old and have been babysitting since I was 13. I am still very close to many of these families. I have been a teacher the past 5 years and have loved my experience, but I am looking for a change. The past 2 years I have been a seasonal summer nanny for a family of 3. When I first graduated from my masters program I was a nanny from March-August for a newborn. I have cherished all of my nanny experiences and am looking to do it again full time.

What are some common responsibilities for nannies in Little Rock, AR?

As a parent, it’s natural for you to ask your nanny for a little extra help around the house. However, the boundaries for a nannies duties vary from person to person. In general, a nanny is responsible for making sure your children’s needs are met. This includes things like ensuring they have opportunities to play and be active, that they have a healthy diet and a sanitary home.
