A little bit about me
My name is Gabriela, but I go Gabby, I am 22 years old and I'm currently a student at San Francisco State University (SFSU). I'm am currently a 5th year Kinesiology major with a minor in Special Education, what I hope to do with my degree is either become a physical therapist for kids with special needs or a pediatric cancer physician assistant. I always knew that I wanted to work with children, I started babysitting for family and family friends in high school, and as I grew, I found a passion in working with kids I worked for an after school program my senior year of high school and I absolutely enjoyed it. It wasn't until my sophomore year of college where I started to work for families and from there the rest is history. I love to see children's personality flourish, as well as seeing their bubbly personalities. Lastly, I thought I throw in some of my hobbies, I love to read (love books), i enjoy going on hikes, and playing soccer.

A little bit about me
My name is Diana and I am 22 year old college student who will be attending UC Davis. I have babysat for almost all of my life being the eldest of 3 and due to having many younger cousins. Also, growing up anytime there was an opportunity to be a class helper during vacation, I would always help the younger classes (ex: 5th grader helping 1st grade class.) During my junior and senior year of High School I would go to my local elementary school every Friday after class and help a group of students through a program we built and my first job was as a youth tennis instructor so I have plenty of experience taking care of and helping kids. I was working as a caregiver through a company to 3 children (2 with special needs;) however I only accepted a contract until July since I thought I would be moving away for college. Due to the pandemic I will be staying in town while still taking classes online. I hope you to hear from you and am glad to answer any questions!

Understand Nanny Responsibilities in Montebello, CA
Before beginning the search for a nanny, it’s important to understand what you’re looking for and if a nanny is the right choice for your child care needs. In hiring a nanny, first, you should think through what responsibilities you expect your nanny to handle. With that information, you can create a profile so that nannies can reach out to you. The boundaries for nannies duties vary from family to family. In general, a nanny is responsible for making sure your children’s needs are met, including things like ensuring they have opportunities to play and be active. When tasks go beyond child care, for example, housekeeping or meal preparation, it’s good practice to communicate these expectations with your nanny before hiring them. Along with the different duties that you ask for, experience and location can impact how much you should pay your nanny.
Montebello Nanny Interviews
Once you start connecting with prospective nannies, the next step is a nanny interview. To make things a bit easier, here’s a list of some nanny interview questions to consider asking:
- Do you have experience being a nanny?
- How do you handle tantrums? Can you share an experience disciplining children?
- What sort of household tasks are you open to doing?
- Are you open to a live in arrangement in Montebello? Do you have experience being a live in nanny?
- Are you open to being a nanny in a nanny share?
- Do you have any references?
- Are you trained in First Aid or CPR in Montebello?
- Do you have a driver’s license in CA? Do you own a car?
- What salary are you seeking? Are you open to being paid through direct-deposit, pay stubs?
- What are your expectations around over-time pay and vacation time?
During the hiring process, it’s essential to ask for references, and by asking their references questions you gain a better understanding of they will fit in your family. As you get closer to hiring a nanny, be sure to run a background check to ensure your kids are in good hands. When evaluating a prospective nanny, it’s essential to make sure you’re setting the foundation for a good relationship with your nanny. You can do this by being clear about your expectations around nanny responsibilities and compensation, and of course, by being friendly and welcoming! And of course, as you learn how to hire a nanny, Nanny Lane's nanny services are here to help you along the way.
Daycare vs. Hiring a Nanny
Choosing between putting your child in daycare and hiring a nanny can be a tough decision. While nannies are often more expensive, they provide individualized attention and flexibility. Daycares, on the other hand, prioritize socialization. Our Nanny vs Daycare guide can help you determine what's best for your family.
