Alayna F. - Seeking Work in Coeur d'Alene

20.00 / hour
Full-time hours

My name is Alayna and I am 22 years old and happily married. I have over 9 years of childcare experience with ages ranging from infant to 13 years. I began babysitting when I was 13 and have worked consistently with a number of families over the years as a nanny. I am comfortable taking on challenging situations-I have worked with up to 11 children at a time, multiples(triplets), and special needs (mental delay, feeding tube, autism, ADD, ADHD, ODD, and severe allergies). I am also a certified Elementary teacher and have gained a great deal of experience in keeping kids learning and engaged through hands-on crafts and games. I have realized that I gain much more joy from working with children one-on-one in a nannying capacity than in a classroom setting which is why I will continue my work as a career nanny rather than to teach in a classroom for the next couple of years. I cared for a 5-month-old boy for eight months before I had to leave that position due to my husband's recent promotion. I just recently worked for a wonderful family here in CDA, Idaho caring for their two girls, ages 3 and 1. I took the 3 year old to preschool three days a week as well as to outside activities (spanish, dance, swimming) while maintaining a healthy consistent schedule for the 1 year old that consisted of naps and learning groups with other babies. I was responsible for both girls full-time during the week and absolutely loved the opportunity to work for that family and provide the best of care nurturing and engaging their children. I enjoyed taking the girls to parks, setting up play dates with other moms, and providing fun crafts and games. The family's work needs however changed and they no longer needed a full-time nanny which is why I am currently searching for a long term position that allows me to build a deeper relationship with the children and parents. If you would like, I would love to provide you with a current resume and an essay that I wrote over a year ago that was required by xx to hiring me to be a part of their agency.

I babysat for several different families growing up, starting when I was twelve. I have been a counselor at numerous church camps, outdoor camps, and sports camps. I spent the last semester at college volunteering over 60 hours in second and third grade classrooms and my high school senior project involved over 60 hours working with fourth graders. I have also taught Spanish to fifth graders after school and helped mentor younger students in high school. From June to October of 2009 I worked as a live-in summer nanny for a family with 15 month old twin girls and a three year old girl. From October of 2009 until August of 2010 I worked as a nanny for a three year old girl. In August of 2010 I moved to South Korea for a year and a half to teach English in three separate middle schools. Returning home in February of 2012 I was hired as a Pre-Kindergarten teacher in a learning center where I worked for over a year. In the summer of 2013 I moved to Virginia to be a live-in nanny for a family with an eight year old girl and and en year old boy. I stayed with them until the end of August 2014 when I returned to Idaho to be closer to family. In September I started substituting and am currently still guest teaching in all grade levels and subjects.

I was a assistant in a licensed day care for almost a year. During that time I prepared meals, helped set up and conduct educational and craft times as well as taking the kids outside to play on summer days. I have also been babysitting since I was twelve and have always had great reviews from parents on my skills.

I have cared for young children still running around in diapers, to older children who I love to play with and be active, and everything in between. I was also a beginners gymnastics coach, and a National xx Association staff member. So with those experiences I have seen that I love teaching new and fun things.
