A little bit about me

Hi! My name is Narmeen and I am a current junior at UT Austin studying Economics and International Business. I have a ton of experience working with kids from 3-17 year olds. In high school, I was a Kumon math tutor where I taught students in subjects relating to adding and subtracting to Calculus. Additionally, I was a Creative Movement and Kindergarden Teacher's assistant for three years at my place of prayer. In short, Creative Movement was like a Physical Education class. I also am a camp counselor at my place of prayer where I work with middle school students. I have a ton of experience working with kids and would love to learn more about yours!!

A little bit about me

Hello my name is Brittany Garcia, I am twenty years old. I have a quite a bit of experience with babysitting. I was about eight when my mom had an in home dacare and I was always in charge of helping her out with the newborns and the toddlers. After around four or five years with the daycare my mom stopped watching kids because she needed to help take care of my grandma, so I would watch my moms friends kids on the weekends and during the summer. When I was thirteen, everyday after school I babysat an autistic girl for about five hours a day for two years and that included doing laundry, cleaning the house, feeding her, bathing her, and putting her to bed. As I got more into high school I became part of the drill team and social community I didn’t have time to go babysit her after school. Recently I was working at a gym in the child care center, I worked there for about four months then I became a personal trainer and meal planner, but ever two weekend when I got paid something would be wrong with my check either it bounced or it was never the right amount. There for I quite and I’m currently working at a restaurant.

Understand Nanny Responsibilities in Kemah, TX

Before beginning the search for a nanny, it’s important to understand what you’re looking for and if a nanny is the right choice for your child care needs. In hiring a nanny, first, you should think through what responsibilities you expect your nanny to handle. With that information, you can create a profile so that nannies can reach out to you. The boundaries for nannies duties vary from family to family. In general, a nanny is responsible for making sure your children’s needs are met, including things like ensuring they have opportunities to play and be active. When tasks go beyond child care, for example, housekeeping or meal preparation, it’s good practice to communicate these expectations with your nanny before hiring them. Along with the different duties that you ask for, experience and location can impact how much you should pay your nanny.

Kemah Nanny Interviews

Once you start connecting with prospective nannies, the next step is a nanny interview. To make things a bit easier, here’s a list of some nanny interview questions to consider asking:

  • Do you have experience being a nanny?
  • How do you handle tantrums? Can you share an experience disciplining children?
  • What sort of household tasks are you open to doing?
  • Are you open to a live in arrangement in Kemah? Do you have experience being a live in nanny?
  • Are you open to being a nanny in a nanny share?
  • Do you have any references?
  • Are you trained in First Aid or CPR in Kemah?
  • Do you have a driver’s license in TX? Do you own a car?
  • What salary are you seeking? Are you open to being paid through direct-deposit, pay stubs?
  • What are your expectations around over-time pay and vacation time?

During the hiring process, it’s essential to ask for references, and by asking their references questions you gain a better understanding of they will fit in your family. As you get closer to hiring a nanny, be sure to run a background check to ensure your kids are in good hands. When evaluating a prospective nanny, it’s essential to make sure you’re setting the foundation for a good relationship with your nanny. You can do this by being clear about your expectations around nanny responsibilities and compensation, and of course, by being friendly and welcoming! Daycare vs. Hiring a Nanny
