A little bit about me
My name is Kimberly and I have 10 yrs. current exp. as a caregiver with nearly 8 of those years caring for children. The biggest part of my experience was as FT caregiver in a licensed foster home. The residence was at 100% capacity with six children and often times would take additional kids in emergent situations. The kids came to us by way of DSHS having been removed from their homes due to parent's inability to give them appropriate care and or negligence. Many were special needs children and most were affected by drugs/alcohol in some way. They were in desperate need of stability, and a clean healthy environment where they felt safe, and knew they were loved. I made sure there were lots of hugs & kisses...tickles & giggles to go around. Of course we provided help with schoolwork, drove children to and from appts. with Dr., Dentist, Counseling, etc as well as any extra-curricular activities. I also assisted with meal preparation, laundry and light housekeeping duties. I can't stress enough the patience, understanding, ability to laugh, have fun, and play that this position required while still giving them a structured, consistent environment and schedule.
My most recent employment was caring for a young man living with autism. Shortly after I started he moved into a Residential care program and I was hired on FT as a Site Supervisor/Caregiver with the company that provided the services. Soon after a 2nd client moved in. They were both over 18 but the care needed was extensive.
I have been trained extensively, and I am current on all continuing education requirements, NAR, Nurse delegation, CPR, Blood borne pathogens, mandatory reporting.. as well as various others that are state mandated trainings or required by previous employer's Strict adherence to all local, state, or federal regulations.
I am happy to answer any additional questions, and will provide references upon request.
Thankyou and I hope to be meeting you soon.

Understand Nanny Responsibilities in Bellevue, WA
Before beginning the search for a nanny, it’s important to understand what you’re looking for and if a nanny is the right choice for your child care needs. In hiring a nanny, first, you should think through what responsibilities you expect your nanny to handle. With that information, you can create a profile so that nannies can reach out to you. The boundaries for nannies duties vary from family to family. In general, a nanny is responsible for making sure your children’s needs are met, including things like ensuring they have opportunities to play and be active. When tasks go beyond child care, for example, housekeeping or meal preparation, it’s good practice to communicate these expectations with your nanny before hiring them. Along with the different duties that you ask for, experience and location can impact how much you should pay your nanny.
Bellevue Nanny Interviews
Once you start connecting with prospective nannies, the next step is a nanny interview. To make things a bit easier, here’s a list of some nanny interview questions to consider asking:
- Do you have experience being a nanny?
- How do you handle tantrums? Can you share an experience disciplining children?
- What sort of household tasks are you open to doing?
- Are you open to a live in arrangement in Bellevue? Do you have experience being a live in nanny?
- Are you open to being a nanny in a nanny share?
- Do you have any references?
- Are you trained in First Aid or CPR in Bellevue?
- Do you have a driver’s license in WA? Do you own a car?
- What salary are you seeking? Are you open to being paid through direct-deposit, pay stubs?
- What are your expectations around over-time pay and vacation time?
During the hiring process, it’s essential to ask for references, and by asking their references questions you gain a better understanding of they will fit in your family. As you get closer to hiring a nanny, be sure to run a background check to ensure your kids are in good hands. When evaluating a prospective nanny, it’s essential to make sure you’re setting the foundation for a good relationship with your nanny. You can do this by being clear about your expectations around nanny responsibilities and compensation, and of course, by being friendly and welcoming! And of course, as you learn how to hire a nanny, Nanny Lane's nanny services are here to help you along the way.
Daycare vs. Hiring a Nanny
Choosing between putting your child in daycare and hiring a nanny can be a tough decision. While nannies are often more expensive, they provide individualized attention and flexibility. Daycares, on the other hand, prioritize socialization. Our Nanny vs Daycare guide can help you determine what's best for your family.
