A little bit about me…

In the beginning, I cared for children part-time; i.e., sick childcare, temporary nanny replacement, etc. For 15 years now, I have worked full-time as a nanny beginning with infants and remaining until the family no longer needed a nanny. I have been responsible for the total care of the children; i.e., bathing, dressing, feeding (including child's meal preparation and cleanup), encouraging good manners and values, helping get the baby on a good nap schedule, potty training, interactive play, appropriate outings, arranging and supervising play-dates, doing the children's laundry andy keeping all common areas of the house picked up and tidy.

A little bit about me…

I grew up in a small farm town in Eastern Washington where I was the local babysitter for everyone in town. I started my first nanny job when I was 13. I nannied for that family on weekends, after school, during summers, and occasionally overnight. When I started the family had a 6 month old girl. When I left for college the girl had grown into a 5 year old with a 3 year old brother. I also continued to babysit other children during this time. When I was 15 I flew from Washington to Florida with a two year old to meet up with the parents for a Disney World vacation. I held a few temporary positions during college with a Seattle-area nannying agency, during which time I cared for several children. I also held a few long term positions. Most of the families I worked for in the temporary positions wanted me to stay with them permanently. It was hard to turn down any family because all the kids were such great kids! Some of my experience from this part of my nannying career includes: * Caring for a 1 year old until he was 3 years old. * Nannying a girl, who is now 6, and her brother, who is now 3, for 2 years * Working for a family with a 13, 12, 10, 8 and two year old (all girls) * Nannying for a family with a 10, and 6 year old girls, and 2 year old twin boys. * Caring for a 2 year old boy and his newborn sister. There are so many more children that I have nannied throughout the years, but unless you are a professor you’ve probably heard enough! My most recent nannying job was for a little girl who was 3 weeks when I started and just shy of her 2nd birthday when I left. The reason my nannying career breaks there is because that is where my “mommy” career started! I was blessed with a wonderful baby boy last June! I have learned so much more from being a mother. I am so excited to have another child in our home and I know both my son and I are ready for this fun addition to our day!
