The schedule would be flexible and vary week to week, though we anticipate needing support roughly one day per week, around 12:00 PM–5:00 PM, with occasional variation in days and times for appointments, errands, or personal time.
About our children:
* Son (almost 3 years old): Diagnosed with autism, very energetic, happy, and kind. He uses some spoken words and sign language to communicate. He benefits from patience, engagement, and understanding.
* Daughter (15 months old): Sweet, active toddler.
What we’re looking for:
We hope to find someone who is:
* Patient, calm, and dependable
* Comfortable caring for toddlers
* Experienced with autism or neurodivergent children (preferred, but not required if willing to learn)
* Engaging, playful, and attentive
Responsibilities:
The role would focus entirely on in-home supervision, care, and play with the children. We have a fully fenced backyard with kid-friendly activities such as kiddie pools, bubbles, and outdoor play opportunities within the home environment. No transportation or driving is required.
Please note:
* We are not looking for housekeeping or cleaning help — our priority is attentive childcare and engagement.
* Patience is essential.
* No physical discipline, ever. We value gentle, respectful caregiving.
We’re hoping to find someone who can become a trusted, positive support for our family as we settle into our new community.

A little bit about us
Our daughter (2 years old) has a rare medical condition which impacts her in a number of ways - including profound deafness, full-time wheelchair use, and full-time g-tube feeding. She is also quite the character and loves to explore and play. She's very social and loves to meet new people.
We are looking for in-home support in the early mornings during the week, from approximately 5 or 6am to 9am -- and with longer hours on Thursday if possible. The nanny would help get our daughter ready for daycare in the morning while Mom works from home in the next room and Dad heads to work himself. This role may include housekeeping or other support, but that can be negotiable with the individual provider - let us know what works for you!
We are looking for someone open to learning about care for complex conditions, with a special preference for those who know ASL and those who are comfortable working with natural, textured hair (4a) during morning routines. We are an international and interfaith home :)
Provider must be willing to be paid directly from the county via the IHSS program. Thanks so much!

We also have a large, friendly dog and a rather annoying cat, both of whom would require some petting, but no other care.
During the school year, this would involve school pick-ups through early evening. During the summer, it would likely be morning hours, but with flexibility. One parent works from home, and the other will occasionally be off work (hospital-based), and so there is support.
