A little bit about us

Hello! I am looking for a very special nanny to help care for our superstar 12 year old daughter in Sag Harbor this summer. She has developmental delays and a movement disorder stemming from a neurological condition - she needs a para at school to keep her safe and on task, and we would love a fun and caring nanny to fill that role (and more!) at home this summer. This will be a Monday - Friday, 9:30 am - 5:30 pm position for late July and August, though we'll most likely head out of town for a week sometime in mid to late August. S. loves to swim, play Barbies, and cook, and she adores shopping trips to TJ Maxx and frozen yogurt dates at Buddha Berry. She alternates between a walker at home and a power wheelchair for everything else, and we have an accessible SUV with a ramp which goes along with whomever is taking her on for that day. She needs help with toileting and dressing, and there is definitely a physical component to her care, but we will hopefully be in place to help with any learning curve as you get familiar with each other.
Our 14 year old son will be fully entrenched travel baseball and it's unlikely that his schedule will have much impact on yours - unless it’s an out of town game which keeps us out late on the odd night! You might see him to say hello, but goodness knows he is not on the care docket!
Mom works from home most days and Dad will be working from home/commuting in and out from the city for a few days/week, but kids are our #1 and we'll definitely be there to take care of all of the big stuff. The only housework or cooking we'd ask for is to help with lunch and its subsequent clean up - so unless you're on duty for a glitter explosion, no vacuuming!
We would prefer a live-out nanny as traveling friends and family will make claims on guest space, but there is a studio apartment above the garage which we could “reserve” for a least a few weeks if necessary for the right person. We’re open to the discussion!
