Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
I have worked as an early childhood educator since June 2023 and I have babysat/nannied in various childcare settings since I was 14. I also have experience in creating and teaching lesson plans and have volunteered long-term with a foster home for special needs and children with disabilities.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I absolutely love the outdoors and believe it is extremely important to get kids out in nature and exploring whenever possible. Another thing I enjoy is doing art with kids and allowing them to learn how to use their hands to create something beautiful. STEM/STEAM also holds a special place in my heart and I love to be able to do projects and create inventions to create whatever the kids imaginations can dream up.
The most important part about being a nanny...
being 1 on 1 and caring for kids, and meeting all the needs that being in a daycare or school setting can't always provide.
My experience with special needs children...
I've worked with many kids on the ASD spectrum and with ADHD. I consider myself a very patient and caring person, and this obviously extends to children with special needs or disabilities. I am always willing to learn how to do things better or in a way that your specific child will respond to better and help wherever needed.
