My names abbey, I’m 26 and live in the cypress/Tomball area. I’ve been working in childcare for a little over six years as a nanny/caregiver. Working with children is truly a passion of mine! I believe it’s a privilege to wake up every day excited to go to work, but I’m so thankful that that’s my reality! I’ve worked with multiple families as a private caregiver and started with my agency Jovie back in 2022. As I’m getting older, I’m looking to acquire a more consistent structured caregiver position. Activities I enjoy doing with children...

My favorite thing to do with children is the age is arts and crafts! I love seeing their imagination and what they come up with!
I love walks and encourage outside play anytime we can!
One of my favorite activities is doing nature walks. I get a piece of tape and wrap it around the child’s wrist like a bracelet. We go on a walk and any plant they see that interests them they stick into their bracelet. By the end, they should have a full nature bracelet. :)

The most important part about being a nanny...

I think what’s most important is being a comfort and safe place for the child. Although I do believe what is most important to provide differs from each child as none are the same.

My experience with special needs children...

Although I have worked with high functioning, autistic children, and feel comfortable working with children, who specifically are verbal. I do not have enough experience I believe with more high needs non-functioning special needs/neurodivergent children

The most important part about being a nanny...

There’s so many that there’s really not one I can pinpoint. I think the best feeling as a caregiver is being shown appreciation and giving kind words from kiddos. Especially when it may be their first time meeting me. A specific experience I can recall is being a sitter for a young girl for the very first time.. by the end of the day she ended up telling me “ I was really nervous to have a babysitter, but now I’m not scared and I’m excited to have a new friend.” It melted my heart.
