Hands on activities are the best. If we can get into sensory projects like painting or playing with sand, we can have the best time. I also believe the best thing for anyone, especially children is to get some outside time. Kids have the best imaginations and they keep us young if we can get on their level and remember life is about having fun!

The most important part about being a nanny...

The most important thing is not only the child's needs but communication with their parents. I like to be able to write out tasks to what exactly needs completed.

My experience with special needs children...

I grew up in a household with a special needs child. I learned to care for him to help out my grandparents who adopted him. The beauty of a special needs child is the lessons they teach you. They teach you how to be patient and understand how to communicate in unique ways. They are outside of the box thinkers and it is very inspirational. Special needs children need a lot of attention and as a mother of a special needs toddler, I have a lot to give.

The most important part about being a nanny...

I used to help with my neighbor's children when I first had my son. They absolutely loved having a baby around. I think the best thing about getting to know them is when I see them in town and they come up to say hi. It's really special when a child remembers you and tells you they needing a babysitter
