I am a 24 year old graduate of Virginia Tech (Go Hokies!) with a degree in exercise science and nutrition. I also took a few courses in human development and psychology. I previously worked with two very rambunctious boys ages 6 and 8. I have worked with children ages 1 - 14 in my previous work as a swim instructor and camp counselor. I am a very organized person who loves to cook. I prefer cooking a homemade meal to feeding kids chicken nuggets and pizza every night. If those are staples in your child's diet (more than once a week) we may not a fit for each other. I do realize that in a time crunch nuggets are quick and child friendly but only occasionally. I have lots of fun and healthy recipes that my boys love! I would be more than happy to share them with your family! I recently started a garden of my own in hopes that the kids will find joy in growing, harvesting and eating healthy fruits and vegetables! I enjoy taking children on fun outings around town. I prefer to limit screen time (tv/ipads/computer/video games). Ideally I would like the children to play outside or with each other than to sit and stare at a screen. Not fun for me and not desirable for small growing minds! I enjoy bike rides, swimming, fishing, kayaking, canoeing, dancing, singing, painting, coloring, crafts, gardening, photography and science experiments! Although I no longer work as a swim instructor I would be happy to work with your children on their swimming as well as pass along water safety skills important to child safety around water. I am currently practicing Tae Kwon Do and would love to continue to do so or introduce the sport to my new family! ***I do have a dog that will need to relocate with me with me so please keep that in mind while reviewing my profile.

I am currently a stay-at-home mom of a sweet, well-mannered two-year-old boy who loves to stay active, read, and learn. I worked in my church when I was younger, providing care for infants and toddlers (including changing diapers, feeding, playing, and supervising). I also occasionally babysit my neighbor's grandson (4 years old) for 30 minutes to an hour a day, once or twice a week.

The first childcare center I worked was at xx as a teacher's assistant (toddlers room). Then I was promoted to a lead teacher's position for the school-aged room (ages 5-12 years). I've worked at another learning center called xx where I served as a Lead Teacher for ages 5-12 years. Another childcare center I worked at was xx, where I worked as an assistant teacher working with 3 & 4-year-olds. I have over nine years of experience working as an in-home childcare provider, which includes in-home childcare for family members, my former boss's children, several former co-workers' children, and in-home care for families on different childcare sites.

I have spent much of my life volunteering and working with kids in a variety of settings. I have been a part of Big Brothers Big Sisters in Williamsburg for three years, and have tutored elementary school students as well as taught music lessons since I was 14. I love to read, play games, do arts and crafts, and really encourage any activities that stimulate the mind and imagination. I have cared for families in a variety of settings, including children as young as a few months old to kids in their teens, as well as families with multiples. I love getting to spend time with children and helping to foster a fun, enriching, and fulfilling environment as a nanny.

I have been taking care of kids for a long time. Starting at age 12, I began volunteering at my church in the infants nursery, and then did babysitting and child care for many families throughout junior high, high school, and college. I have also been a postpartum/neonatal nurse for the past 6.5 years, and I am CPR and first aid certified. I also have 8 nieces and nephews (aged 3 years old up to 11), and I have had many hours of experience taking care of them as well. I also have experience caring for multiples as I had a summer time babysitting job caring for newborn triplets. I love caring for kids of all ages!

As a parent, it’s natural for you to ask your nanny for a little extra help around the house. However, the boundaries for a nannies duties vary from person to person.
