The most important part about being a nanny...
For me, the most important part of being a nanny is building a genuine relationship with both the parents and the child. Children only show their true personalities when they feel entirely safe. By taking the time to truly understand each child—rather than just trying to control them—I help them feel secure enough to express who they are, whether they are quiet, high-energy, or uniquely creative. When kids feel safe to be themselves, it naturally fosters empathy, emotional intelligence, and confidence. At the same time, I prioritize open, transparent communication with parents so we can stay aligned on what is best for the child through every shifting phase of life.

What makes this work so special to me is the lasting impact you get to make across every age group. One of my absolute favorite things is watching children truly blossom—from seeing a baby smile and take their first steps with me, to the day a sweet toddler proudly looked up and told me I was her best friend. I’ve even nannied older kids who are now in high school; they don’t need a nanny anymore, but we still hang out to this day. Knowing that I can create an environment where children feel so safe, loved, and wanted that our bond lasts long after the job ends is exactly why I do this. There is truly nothing better than arriving at work and having the kids genuinely excited just to play and have fun with you for hours.
