Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
I took on a few babysitting jobs when I was a teenager, but most of my experience comes from being a mother myself, as well as helping to raise my 3 younger sisters.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I love playing and doing various activities with little ones, such as arts and crafts, games and story time! It really brings me so much joy to teach them something new, or even learning something about them! I'm a firm believer that we ourselves can learn a lot from our children if you just sit and listen. Yes, getting to know them is important, but for me it's a necessity and it's SO much fun!
The most important part about being a nanny...
I think the most important part about being a nanny or sitter is your connection with not only the children, but the parents as well. Trust is such an important piece and really, you can't do this job without it! I treat other children just as I do my own, creating a safe and caring environment and instilling important practices like manners and hygiene. As a nanny, you have to respect the fact that someone is trusting you enough to take care of their child/children in their absence. Respecting the wishes and boundaries of both the parents and the children is crucial.

I do not have much experience with special needs children, but I am very patient and with some direction, it's no problem at all :)
