A little bit about me

My name is Alina! I am originally adopted from Russia. I have experienced other cultures and people. I’ve volunteered with kids in other countries including Kenya, Guatemala, Mexico, Canada, Australia, and Thailand! Outside of the traveling or living abroad working with kids, I have nannied in Los Angeles, and also baby sat for many years in the town I grew up.
I have worked with kids for well over 10 years; ranging from tiny toddlers to teenagers. I feel comfortable with any age and can adapt to the needs of the child quite easily. I am a very active person and love to do art/ crafts with kids and run around playing games outside! I really enjoy channeling my inner imagination deeper while being around kids too. I am here for the relationship building and learning more about life & myself through a younger persons lens. I am very responsible and responsive as I value healthy communication the most! My goal is to work together as a team with the parents in raising their kiddos : )

Alina went above and beyond her duties by attending physical therapy appointments with our daughter to support her with torticollis. She also assisted with helmet appointments & pediatrician appointments, ensuring that our daughter received the necessary care and treatment. Alina even did extensive PT exercises with our daughter at home to help improve her torticollis. On top of the PT responsibilities, Alina also made playtime fun & engaging including taking her to the park, reading her books, etc. Alina is reliable, she communicated effectively with us regarding our daughter's progress. More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I was a PT for an infant in LA last year- I bathed the baby, helped the baby mobilize, stand, walked her, fed her food, gave her bottles, put her down for naps, changed diapers, read to her!
I have worked with kids for approx. 10 years! I lived in Nairobi, Kenya for a year where I volunteered with kids at a children's home. I played with and built relationships with 90+ children of all ages! I have had similar experiences while in Guatemala, Mexico, Australia, Canada, and Washington. Each of these experiences was unique and developed skills for working with kids of different cultures, and upbringings! I have seen a lot in the time I have lived abroad and or worked locally with kids. From running summer camps, leading a cabin of underprivileged youth, to being a full time nanny for an infant this past year I still find my love for children and investing time into them. I am very active, as I love to play and dance with kids.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I enjoy reading with/ to kids, doing arts and crafts, playing outside, playing sports with them, going swimming, seeing a movie together, doing pottery, playing card games/ board games!

The most important part about being a nanny...

Nannying is a really intimate role to play in a families life, and more specifically for a child. I love the opportunity to shape a kids life and also be shaped by them and learn from them too. Kids have a pure spirit and are honest as they aren’t yet tainted by the world; so I love being reminded of that honesty and creativity!
