I like to try and include kids in anything I'm doing, wether that be cooking, cleaning up, grocery shopping. I love making pillow forts and obstacle courses with couch cushions, playing on the playground with them, zoos, museums, crafts.
The most important part about being a nanny...
My nanny kid was 3 at the time and started going through a baby talk phase. I kept telling her how I liked it more when she talked like a big girl-- that my favorite part of hanging out with her was that since she was a big girl now, we got to do fun things that we couldn't do when she was a baby and how it just isn't as fun to hang out with babies as it is to hang out with her! She took this and ran with it and said, "so you hate babies?" I said no of course I don't hate babies, but it was too late. A few days later we're at a bookstore and she goes up to this infant in a stroller and yells across the store, "hey Alley! Come check out this baby! You're gonna hate it!"
