A little bit about me

Hello, my name is Alyssa. I just turned 23 years old, and I am currently furthering my education so that I can become an elementary school teacher! Working with children has always been a passion of mine. I’ve always had little babysitting gigs throughout my time in high school. I was also a lifeguard and swim lessons instructor for children. These jobs have all given me the opportunity to help care for and guide children in the right direction. I have been basic first aid/AED and CPR certified in the past. However, my certifications are currently expired but I am 100% willing to become officially certified again. I would be happy to help with things such as homework and light housekeeping. I do not mind doing dishes, laundry, and vacuuming/sweeping whilst I care for your child. I am good at multitasking. I have a 5 year old brother whom I take care of regularly and I am also responsible for household chores in my own home. So that is not a problem at all. I am Covid vaccinated.

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I used to volunteer to read to preschoolers when I was in high school. I have had numerous babysitting gigs throughout high school. After high school, I was a lifeguard and swim lessons for children. I really enjoy being able to care for and teach children. I also have a 5 year old brother, and I regularly babysit him. So I do have everyday experience working with a child ranging from infant to preschooler. I have professionally babysat older children as well. I am studying to become an elementary school teacher as we speak!

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

Some of the activities I enjoy doing with children is reading with them, arts and crafts, playing outside if the weather is permissible, and watching movies that they enjoy. I am also incredibly used to have to watch the same movies over and over again because of my own little brother. I am also willing to help them with their school work. I am definitely not picky with activities, as long as it’s safe and they are having fun that is all that matters to me!

The most important part about being a nanny...

I believe that establishing a safe and loving environment is important for the overall development of children. That is what I strive for. I seek to encourage and inspire them to believe in themselves and reach their full potential. I aim to be their friend as well as a teacher and a positive role model.

My experience with special needs children...

I have very limited experience with children who are special needs. I have babysat for the sweetest Autistic boy in the past. However, all children are unique, so meeting with parents and the child is important. This goes for any child I’d be caring for, I feel as though it is important to have an in-depth discussion of any needs or concerns specific to any child.

The most important part about being a nanny...

I am a little bias because I babysit for my own baby brother a lot, but I have loved watching him grow, learn, and get excited about life. He has made me very excited to become a teacher and a mom myself one day!
