Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
I usually babysit children of all ages throughout my breaks in between school and also have a big family of which I am a middle child. That being said, even before I was legal I gained experience with children and how to care for them.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
When I’m indoors with children, depending on their age, I like to do arts and crafts to keep their brain stimulated. Not only that but any activity that can be fun but also a learning experience. When we’re outdoors I like to either go to parks/walk around and play iSpy- This usually gets any children engaged in the walk & able to put a label on things as they grow up.
The most important part about being a nanny...
The most important part about being a nanny to me is communication. This includes the parents & children. This is the only way we will be on the same page and allow things to go smoothly. Its also important to me to build a strong foundation/relationship with the families I work for. This allows them to be more comfortable which usually leads to the children becoming more comfortable. Lastly, it’s important for me to stay active with children to keep their brain stimulated while also having fun!
My experience with special needs children...
I have cared for 2 families in the past two years, both with a child on spectrum. That experience was a learning experience in which I hope I can continue to grow in and do again.
