I have a complete resume I can send to you if you are interested. I have been a nanny for over the past 3 years, I worked for 2 families taking care of their twins from newborn until they became toddlers. I also have worked in a nursery, have been a religious school teacher, and was a counselor and teacher for my local ymca chapter (where I helped to lead their kindergarten plus, after school, and summer camp programs). I have taken care of children from 3 weeks - 14 years old. I am an expert with multiples, have taken care many sets of twins, and even one set of triplets. I am CPR, AED, and FIRST AID Certified by the RED CROSS (for infants as well as children and adults) and even completed their Swim Instructor Course recently. I am THE BEST at what I do, and my references will confirm that ;-)

I have the patience and energy to work with children. I worked with children at the Center where I spent time with a group of about 20 kids ranging between 6 and 8. I encouraged their participation in activities from reading books, to creating games that were designed to encourage teamwork and other important life skills. My most recent babysitting job was taking care of a 9yr old boy who is diagnosed with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. He and I shared a special connection, and I am still close to the family. I consider housework related to the children my responsibility. This includes cooking healthy meals, tidying up the play space, and their bedrooms, and attending to their laundry, all while involving them in the clean up process so they learn about responsibility. I love to do arts and crafts and going on trips to educational sites such as museums and art galleries. My primary focus would be caring for the children, but I am happy to help with odds and ends should you need some extra help.

I currently do random sits in the city for different families. Usually date nights and helping out during the day with school pick ups and after school activities. I was a nanny with a family for over two years (2009-2011) Responsible for kids ages 4, 2 and infant. With that family I gained experience with a special needs child working with him every day on physical and speech therapy. While I was there I also took part in caring for the newborn who was a premature baby *4lb and itty bitty, and I was able to learn how to manage infants, toddlers and preschool kids all at the same time. I was responsible for transportation to and from play groups and events, meals and play time. In the summer of 2008 I was a nanny for a family with two children and we traveled to the Hamptons, NYC, and Ocean City, NJ. I was their live-in full time nanny to a 6 year old boy and an 11 month old girl. I was fully responsible for these children from 6:30 am until they were both asleep at night. Responsible for overseeing all aspects of the daily routine including feeding, dressing, bathing and providing entertainment for the children on a daily basis, maintained a safe and healthy environment for the children, prepared arts and crafts, took trips to the park and various events in the Hamptons, NYC and Ocean City, New Jersey, light house cleaning and responsible for children's laundry. On occasion I will still nanny for this family when they travel. On call basis, because they live in S. Florida. Also in January I was flown to Colorado to watch the now 16 month old for a week (full-time 24 hours a day). My experience started with middle school, where I babysat 2 boys under the age 8. I took care of them a couple days a week in the summer while the mother went to work. I cooked for them, and played outside all day. I am very active and believe kids should be a huge fan of the outdoors. I had other small baby sitting jobs for infants and small kids through out high school. I cared for my best friends two little sisters under the age of 6 on Friday nights or Saturday nights on occasion. In fall 2007 I watched an 11, 8, and 7 year old after school. They were great. I went in early and cleaned up and picked them up from the bus stop. We had snacks and did homework. If there were chores to be done like laundry or pick up rooms we did that together. The rest of the day we jumped on the trampoline, played games, or watched a movie or some TV if it was rainy outside. For the most part I tried to keep them active. In Spring 2008 I started watching 4 kids 13, 12, 8, and 7 on the weekends. They were so much fun. I took the "big kids" to their social outings and usually took the small kids to gatti-town, the park, we watched movies when it was freezing outside. We stayed very active and had a lot of fun. I tutored the 7 year old on Saturday mornings and made sure his homework was perfection. I would clean the house if needed, but my main concentration was the children and their safety and happiness.

My name is Thea and I have over 10 years professional experience in working with children between 6 mo-12 y. o I am patient and carrying, kind but firm, a good organizer and I can multi-task without skipping a bit. I have obtained most of my experience working for large families with children of various ages, needs and interests. I have kept in touch along the years and I have stellar references from all of them. I am a very active person and I'm big on spending time outdoors with children, playing soccer, shooting hoops, pitching baseballs or just at the playground. I enjoy chaperoning and organizing diverse fun activities, visits to museums, play-dates, birthday parties, and small group trips to Manhattan to children's plays or puppet shows. For indoor activities, I focus on developing an interest in reading and storytelling through different media from very early ages and I encourage children in taking up drawing and painting. I am myself a skilled illustrator and taking classes in drawing, acting, dance and voice. I should ad that I have obtained my teaching qualification in Romania where I have taught elementary and middle school for 5 years prior to my arrival in US. I am tri-lingual and I can offer French tutoring beginners to intermediate level as well as tutoring in Maths, Language Arts and Science for elementary and middle school, either separate or as part of the daily schedule. I have also considerable experience with babies and toddlers and I am familiar with the milestones of each early development stage, providing a safe and supportive environment for their explorations, encouraging their use of language and motor skills, introducing healthy foods and snacks. I find it particularly rewarding and inspiring to be part of this miraculous period in a child's life when changes are visible almost from month to month. One of my reasons for being a nanny is because I get to learn something new every day and I feel that keeps my young and happy. My first and foremost concern is the safety of the children and I am dedicated to their well-being and happiness. I am looking forward to meet you and become part of your extended family and put my set of skills and considerable experience at work for your benefit. Disclaimer. My profile picture is featured here with the accord of the parent and I chose it because I believe it shows a true glimpse of who I am.

I began babysitting when I was 16 years old. I started with one or two families in my development, and then branched out to fellow friends of those families. The general ages of the children I have baby sat have been between 6 and 12 years old, but I am certain I would work just as well with younger and older children. I would usually babysit on the weekends (while in high school) and during the afternoons of weeks when I returned home from college (both before and after my summer internships and traveling). My roles included picking up the children from school, helping with homework, fixing snacks and preparing dinner and making sure they were safely tucked in before their parents arrived home (if they were returning home late). My favorite part of all of my babysitting, however, was the free-time I spent with the children! From checkers, to candy land, to jump rope, to soccer (I played soccer, basketball and ran track throughout my life) I think games are a great way to exude energy, learn lessons and have fun! My further experience with looking after children, was during the summer of 2009. I worked at Camp(in Denmark, Maine) as a landsports counselor. I lived in bunk with 12 year olds (for 8 weeks) and accompanied just about every age group (ranging from 9 to 15) on various hiking and canoeing trips. Camp is a wonderful place. I attended as a camper for 6 years and made some of the best friends and memories. Working there however, truly added to my experience. Not only was able to spend time looking after and teaching children, but I was also able to share in some of the memories I once created as a camper with them.
