A little bit about me

I graduated from Millersville University with my degree in Early Childhood Education, so I have all up to date clearances upon request! I taught in elementary schools for 3 years, but have also worked as a Nanny, Camp Counselor, and Nursery Attendant at my church within the last 10 years. I am currently a stay at home mom with my 12 month old son, so bringing him along would be optimal. Lastly, we have a German shepherd, so dogs are always a plus!

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I have been a Nursery Attendant at my church since I was 15. In this church, I also taught Sunday School to second graders. I have been a camp counselor for 3-7 year olds for five summers. I’ve nannied for numerous families over the last 6 year. Lastly, I was a fourth grade teacher for a couple years and now substitute while I take care of my own son during the day.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I love reading books to children as well as facilitating exploration. I like letting children play with different materials, such as paint or water.

The most important part about being a nanny...

Letting children express themselves while teaching them how to be kind and share. I taught the last baby I nannied how to sign certain words so that he could communicate basic needs when he wanted to.

My experience with special needs children...

I have substituted in Autistic Support classrooms as well as have had students with special needs in my classrooms.

The most important part about being a nanny...

I had the 16 month old boy set up books along the windowsill in the kitchen to resemble a library. I placed chairs in the kitchen and tossed blankets over them to create a comfy reading nook. Then the child picked books for us to read inside the fort. His favorite was singing Wheels On The Bus!
