I was a psychiatric technician at the Utah State Hospital in the pediatrics unit. I specialized in ages 12 and younger but also worked with 18-12 years of age. I am currently going to school for social science to become a teacher or dcfs worker.

I worked with kids with schizophrenia, autism, anger issues, trauma, and many other mental illnesses you'd find in a mental hospital. As well as any issues that may follow foster kids.

Whenever kids in the mental hospital were sick all they'd want is to be held and taken care of. So being able to provide comfort via tucking them in or just sitting with them till they fell asleep was one of my favorite things to do for the kids.
