I've been a teacher for over 6 years. Before that I babysat and worked in daycare or after school positions. I've enjoyed being a full time nanny over the past year and I think I've found my niche.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I love playing games, reading, building, creating arts and crafts activities and imaginative play. I enjoy being outdoors as well. I always knew that I wanted to work with children in some capacity or another. As a teacher I found myself restricted with what I was able to do with students. Children learn though play and using their imaginations which is limited in schools. Also, I found a lot of children being heavily exposed to technology and missing out on real play and as a result of being hindered in their abilities to develop oral language skills and vocabulary as well as being stifled in their ability to write or create or imagine things. That's why I've personally found my passion for discovery type play. Children need to play, use their imaginations and talk in order to develop to their fullest extent and to be happy of course.
