Activities I enjoy doing with children...

Anything that deals with art is usually my specialty. I love being able to teach children about the love that I have for art. However, I really like watching movies, and playing oldies music that they'll probably forget about once they're teenagers.

The most important part about being a nanny...

To me, the most important part about being a nanny is being commited to being somewhat of a guardian, and a sibling at the same time. Kids don't respect when they can tell that an adult is just mean, you have to have some sense of nurturing towards them. You also have to be able to joke around with your kids, and teach them right from wrong. Even though in the grand scheme of things my role may play a small part, there could be a chance for me to spark something beautiful into that child that leads them down an amazing path!

My experience with special needs children...

My brother has autism, and since I was the older sister when my mother had to leave for hours on end, I would have to care for him. I can guarantee you that if you have a special needs child that they will be treated with just as much care as any other child.

The most important part about being a nanny...

My favorite nanny moment would be when I was babysitting for three children at the time. Their parents had just left to enjoy a night out with each other, and I thought it would be funny if I played into the idea that we were supposed to be doing something we weren't supposed to. I told them that while we watch a movie, I'd make them snow cones. However, I told them that they couldn't tell their parents (I verified with the parents beforehand), and they were giggling with one another, telling their siblings to "shhh!". After the snow cones, they fell asleep on the couch, and I had to pick up each of them and bring them to their rooms. They asked me in the morning, "how did we end up in our rooms?" I had told them that maybe the Sandman did it!
