Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I was also assistant coach in girls softball during high school, and captain of my cheerleading team. I participated in summer camp for the elementary school, as well as field day and Home economics courses in high school! Caring for children is a very big aspect of my life.

Indoor: Arts and Crafts, Baking, Educational games (store bought or made), Games, Painting Nails (child friendly nail polish, Playing with their toys, etc
Outdoor: Walks to the park, Ice Cream adventures, Red Light Green Light (a childhood favorite game), Jump Roping, Hula Hooping, Ride Bikes, Play in the water/pool (if applicable), Hopscotch, etc

My experience with special needs children...

I have had the honor of growing up with a mentally challenged big sister, learning from her day after day. I have cared for friends and coworkers special needs children (Autism) for around 6 months as well.

The most important part about being a nanny...

Definitely making our own language up. Taking care of children for so long they tend to have a specific bond with each and every person they have in their life. Mine is always a secret language or handshake. It makes them feel they have your attention and that you truly care about them.
