More About Me
Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
I am a graduate from Purdue's Elementary Education program, so I have had the opportunity to work in various classrooms ranging from kindergarten to 3rd grade. I have now been teaching in my own kindergarten classroom for two years! Additionally, I was an employee at a daycare where I worked primarily with ages 5-12. Further, I have volunteered at the YWCA where I was responsible for helping with the children's small group activities. Finally, I was a staff member in a campground’s Recreation Department while in high school. This allowed me to to work with children and their parents in a fun and creative setting. I am so thankful for all of the opportunities I’ve had over the years, and I would love a chance to apply my knowledge and skill set to a nannying position!
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I love to read! As an educator, I have learned so much about reading strategies to use with children. I love going outdoors as well. Chalk, bubbles, hopscotch, and hide-and-seek are some of my favorite children's games. When inside, I would love to play make believe with all kinds of toys, or build with blocks. It's truly amazing and awe inspiring to see how creative and imaginative children are when they are given the opportunity to do so! Baking, painting, and drawing are a few other hobbies of mine that I also really enjoy!
