I worked as a preschool teacher at EnCORAGE Preschools for about 2 and a half years while also working as a teachers aid at Valor School in their kindergarten and infant class.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I love reading with kids, and libraries are wonderful for both discovery and learning (should the age range allow for it).
Walks and parks along with forts and outdoor play (when the weather allows) are great energy releasers. Crafts and coloring are a ton of fun and so is some water activities when the day gets hot.
For younger babies, games like peekaboo and tummy play are great as well as encouraging movement by crawling to a favorite toy or person and always striving for a calm environment with age-appropriate songs and dancing.

Having a good relationship and trust with both children and parents is huge, and so is taking each moment as it comes while also planning for the day ahead. Flexibility is always needed with kids, and learning to help in the moment with love and care is something I strive for with each little one I work with.

While nannying is new to me, working with children is not. One of my favorite moments with a child was with a baby that I saw every day at work. Her big grin and happy kicks always put a smile on my face and having the privilege of watching her grow from one stage to the next was a huge highlight of my days, whether that be trying new food, taking her first steps, or watching her rattle a toy that she didn’t know made noise, it was all so precious and wonderful to be a part of.
