I’ve worked at summer camp with both neurotypical children and children with special needs. I’ve worked at an elementary school with a diverse group of children ages 5-11. I’ve worked in private practice with children struggling with a variety of issues and abilities.

I am equipped to deal with the emotional needs that many special needs children have. I understand that routine is of the upmost important to some children and will prioritize structure if needed. I am skilled at deescalating meltdowns, anticipating future meltdowns, and helping children implement (or learn new) coping strategies. If your child is on the spectrum with highly specific interests, I’d be happy to listen to your little expert and share in their joy for as long as they’d like. I also have experience working with children who use a tablet to assist communication.
