A little bit about me

Hi there! My name is Armani, and I'm a 19-year-old student at VCU. I'll be home for the summer from May to August and am looking for a nanny position during that time. I have always loved taking care of babies and have experience with my own two nephews, as well as younger cousins.

My ultimate goal in life is to have a big, healthy, and happy family. I hope to have five children of my own one day! In my free time, I enjoy being outdoors, drawing and painting, working out, and reading. I am fluent in American Sign Language and know a bit of Spanish.

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I have two nephews and I used to go into my aunts job at a daycare in Woodbridge before she moved.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

Indoor activities: arts and crafts, reading books, playing board games, baking or cooking.

Outdoor activities: nature walks, playing sports or games, visiting a park, water activities.

I also enjoy teaching children American Sign Language.

The most important part about being a nanny...

As a nanny, there are many important aspects to consider, but the most crucial part is ensuring the safety and well-being of the children under your care. This includes creating a safe environment for them to learn and play, providing healthy meals and snacks, and keeping a watchful eye on them at all times.

Additionally, it's essential to be a positive role model and foster a strong and caring relationship with the children you work with. This means showing patience, understanding, and respect towards them, as well as being a good listener and communicator.

Being a nanny also requires flexibility and adaptability, as each child is unique, and their needs and preferences may differ. It's important to be able to adjust your approach to best suit each child's personality and development level.

Ultimately, being a nanny involves a lot of responsibility, but it's also incredibly rewarding to watch children grow and learn under your guidance.

My experience with special needs children...

I do not have much experience with special needs. But I would not have a problem with it. I would actually love to communicate in sign language if a child is nonverbal or has to use ASL as their communication language.

The most important part about being a nanny...

One of my favorite nanny moments was when I was watching my nephew and he ended up taking a number two on my dog's bed! It was a bit of a surprise, but we all ended up laughing about it. Even though it wasn't the most pleasant experience, it was one of those moments that made me appreciate the joy and humor that can come with working with children.
