A little bit about me

Hi, I am a responsible and reliable part time student that has had about 6 years child care experience ranging from ages new born to 12 years old. I have been a regular babysitter to a family with three kids (ages 3-12 years old) for the past two years, but have recently moved back home. While in high school my mother had my brother, who I frequently cared/care for, so I am also quite comfortable with new borns and their needs. I am currently CPR and First Aid certified. I have no problem with any pets of any size; I’m currently in school for animal care so pets are definitely not a problem. I also have my own reliable transportation and am comfortable with driving children as my previous jobs required me too. I am outgoing and enthusiastic as I like to genuinely be engaged with the kids. I have also had experience with helping out with homework and light house maintenance.

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

In high school, I took a “pre-school course” for two years which entailed us to be assigned to a child as one of their teachers. We played with them as well as created lesson plans that we taught them (which were of course approved by our teacher first). I was also in Girl Scouts for 11 years and once I was in high school I became a camp counselor for younger girls (6+ years old) so I gained overnight child care experience that way as well.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

Taking them for walks, playing at the park, making forts, reading, and being crafty with arts and crafts. I also enjoy sports so when older ones are involved with sports then I try and play/practice with them when they want to.

The most important part about being a nanny...

I took the three kids I was caring for to the Oregon Coast Aquarium where I have volunteered at and worked for a couple years. I showed and taught them how everyone at the aquarium cares for the animals and their faces lit up. It was a very fun and engaging activity that the kids learned a lot from. It will always be a very special moment for me because that was one of the first moments when I truly bonded with the kids.
