Activities I enjoy doing with children...
Some of the activities that the children I have cared for in the past have really enjoyed doing with me include swimming, riding bikes/scooters, playing any kind of sport, jumping on the trampoline, water slides, water balloon fights, freeze tag, hide-and-go-seek, painting/coloring, don't-touch-the-lava, building forts, and board games.
The most important part about being a nanny...
To me, the most important part about being a nanny is the ability to nurture (being an essential part of the child/children's development). Knowing that a child is in my presence for a period of time makes me very aware that I have a huge responsibility to be an amazing role model. I strive to impact the children I care for in an extremely positive and healthy way.
My experience with special needs children...
I have not had any personal experience with caring for special needs children; however, my uncle has worked for a facility where he cared for many different older kids (ages 15-20) with special needs. Thus, they would often come to things with our family such as Christmas or basketball games. Therefore, I believe that I could potentially care for a special needs child if the parents were comfortable with it and if they could offer some training on what those specific needs are. I am also open to doing any amount of research that would make me better qualified to do so.
