I started working at the YMCA over summer & fell in love with my job as a camp counselor. I now do after school care through the YMCA & it’s been something I have loved to continue.

I love creating arts and crafts! It's a passion of mine so teaching kids what I love has been fun. I also have enjoyed doing stem activities with the kiddos at the ymca.
The most important part about being a nanny...
Safety safety safety! That is my number one priority, next to having fun. Working at the YMCA has taught me how to balance the two really well.
My experience with special needs children...
I have some experience with special needs children. There are 2 middle schoolers who I watch at the ymca after school program and they both have taught me so much. One of them loves Justin Bieber so whenever he comes over we watch JB's old music videos and sing/dance. My other friend has trouble using words, he can say hi and bye but for the most part he just enjoys playing candyland! He is very sweet and I've learned a lot about his stimming & what they mean. I know that every child with special needs is not the same and I'm very open minded to working with any child!
The most important part about being a nanny...
I was babysitting 2 girls and it was time for them to go to bed. One sister was having a hard time going to sleep because she thought there was monsters in the closet & under her bed. So, I thought of a fun solution! Let's make a monster repellent! We poured some water with a few drops of their moms lavender essential oil into a spray bottle. I told her to spray it where the monster is & it will go away. Right after that she went to bed peacefully! It made my night lol! Plus, the mom had a new trick to help if her kids got scared again.
