for neighbors, friends, and family then graduated to volunteering at summer camps with up to 35 children. I have been taking care of children of varying ages for almost 20 years.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

include, but are not limited to: walks, hikes, park playtime, picnics, arts (coloring, chalk, painting, etc.), crafts (bead and string bracelets, vision boards, etc.), baking and cooking, outings at the planetarium/aquarium/zoo etc., homework help, communication (telling stories, talking through thoughts, reading books, sharing jokes, etc.), board games/card games/puzzles, and beyond!

The most important part about being a nanny...

is creating a safe and comfortable space for children to be themselves and trust their caretaker.

My experience with special needs children...

involve volunteering to be the aide of paraplegic and special needs individuals with varying degrees of need throughout school where I supported classes of up to 15 students. I also worked one on one to support with basic and intricate day to day functions.
