Activities I enjoy doing with children...
- Getting creative! Playing with chalk, Play-Doh, markers, crayons, and other craft tools.
- Getting active! In my spare time, I love to walk and weight lift. I’m a big proponent of getting outside as much as possible with little ones. Let’s play!
- Reading! I love a good book! Let’s read!
- Playing pretend! It’s fantastic for your little one’s imagination! I don’t mind getting in the floor and being the doctor’s patient, the cashier at the grocery checkout lane, or the assistant to the prince/princess. 😉
- Homework help with older kids! I’m a certified social studies & ELA-support teacher for grades 6-12. I’m always down to try some basic math, too!

The most important part about being a nanny...
I love being able to provide families with a sense of security in knowing their child is taken care of when they aren’t able to be there. I truly believe that childcare and children are my purpose and calling, and I take the responsibility of caring for a child who is not my own VERY seriously. That trust and bond between a nanny and their family has to be there for the dynamic to work!
My experience with special needs children...
I work with special needs children every day at work, but I have the most experience working with children on the AUD spectrum. Outside of professional experience, my fiancé’s sister (46) has cerebral palsy and I have hung out with her (and assisted her as needed) on many occasions!
The most important part about being a nanny...
The last family I worked for had changing hours sort of frequently — some days I would come in earlier than others. This particular day, I arrived around noon to find that the family had gone out for an impromptu walk together after lunchtime. I watched as the three of them walked back up the cul-de-sac to me but was particularly struck when the little boy I’d been caring for spotted me. He bolted for me, little three year old feet pitter pattering as fast as they could! He ran right into my arms with the biggest smile!

Hello! I’m Anna, an elementary school special education teacher in Northbrook and have over 5 years of full-time and part-time nannying experience with children and adults of different ages. I genuinely enjoy spending time with kids, whether that means playing outside, doing crafts, helping with homework, or just being a dependable and positive presence in their day. My experience in both education and childcare has taught me how to connect with children, support their individual needs, and create a safe, fun environment where they can thrive.

I have a huge love of caring for little ones! Although I have years of caring for all ages, new babies are my special interest. I recently completed the Dona International postpartum doula training and lactation class, but decided I would rather have a job with more continuity.
