My experience with special needs children...
I have a 10 year old daughter with adhd. I have loved and cared for premature fragile infants. I have a daughter with epilepsy. I nannied for a 4 month old boy with Down syndrome.
The most important part about being a nanny...
I remember a little guy walking up to me with poop on his hands, upon further investigation, I discovered the poop was not just on his hands, it had travelled all the way up his back and down his long sleeves!! 🤯 it was unbelievable!!! 😂
The other hilarious memory was when I was potty training a 3 year old girl. I had made a little chart for her and had taken her to the toilet to try to pee pee every 15 minutes. She was dry all day but still had not done anything on the potty!! I was so confused until.... I found a big fat soaking wet pull-up hidden in her closet. She had put a dry pull-up on, peed in it, hid it and put her dry undies back on! 😂
I remember when I was leaving to go to England on my mission, I explained to my 3 year old class that I was go away. One little boy asked me “but why do you have to go to pingland! “ I cried all the way to England, thinking about my little class.
