I regularly care for a 24-month-old who has diabetes, though he never lets that dim his joyful spirit. He is incredibly alert and articulate, and I cherish every moment with him. Whether it’s swinging on the swings, going for walks, stroller rides, coloring, or tucking him into bed, each activity is special. One of my favorite memories with him was visiting a farm during Christmas. We petted the animals, and the combination of Christmas lights, music, and animals brought an immense amount of joy to his face.
