More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I am ECE trained and certified in First Aid, AED, and CPR, and I have also completed EpiPen training. I have over six years of experience working in childcare, both in daycare settings and in private childcare, where I’ve supported children’s development, safety, and daily routines with patience and professionalism.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

Arts and crafts (painting, coloring, seasonal projects)
• Reading books and storytelling
• Outdoor play (park trips, nature walks, sidewalk chalk)
• Educational games and puzzles
• Music and movement / dance parties
• Sensory play activities
• Baking simple treats together
• Science experiments (age-appropriate and hands-on)
• Building with blocks or Legos
• Dramatic play / pretend play
• Helping with homework and learning activities
• Circle time with songs and interactive learning

The most important part about being a nanny...

The most important part about being a nanny is creating a safe, loving, and consistent environment where children feel secure enough to grow, learn, and express themselves. Beyond daily routines and activities, it’s about building trust, modeling kindness, and supporting each child’s emotional and developmental needs. Being a nanny means becoming a steady, positive presence in a child’s life while partnering with families to ensure their child feels valued, understood, and cared for every day.

My experience with special needs children...

I have experience supporting children with special needs in both daycare and private childcare settings, where I’ve provided patient, individualized care tailored to each child’s unique abilities and learning style. I’ve worked closely with families and followed care plans to ensure consistency, safety, and emotional support. My approach focuses on encouragement, structure, and creating an inclusive environment where every child feels understood, confident, and supported in their development.

The most important part about being a nanny...

One of my funniest nanny moments was when a 4-year-old I cared for got upset that I had a ‘real name.’ He insisted my name was just ‘Princess peach’ and told me very seriously that my mom made a mistake when she named me. We had a whole debate about it, and he finally agreed to let me keep my name — but only at home. Kids at that age are so confident and unintentionally hilarious.

Wendy R. - Seeking Work in Brooklyn

Babysitter Available in Brooklyn, NY: Wendy R.

I've been a caregiver for 14+ years, caring for kids from just a few weeks old up to age 12. I'm confident juggling different needs, ages, and personalities, whether that's helping a toddler through potty training or guiding a 10-year-old through homework frustration.

Experience breakdown:
-Infants, toddlers, & older children
-Multiples
-Select special needs
-Doctor visits
-Daytime outings, pickups/drop-offs
-Meal prep, light cleaning, bedtime, bath time, homework help
-Pets (I love animals!)
-Out of town visits, including care in hotel rooms.

My goals are to make your life easier, help your child feel safe, supported, & seen. My other professional background in management has primed me for being able to prioritize, to patiently & positively meet needs, clearly communicate, and taking responsibility. Most importantly, it has made me realize that if I have to get a headache about something work related, it might as well be from an adorable screaming child.
