Hello! My name is Caitlin, I am 18 going on 19. I truly enjoy being with children. Working with kids for so many years, I have come to understand that children come into the world with a blank slate. The experiences, environment, adults, as well as surroundings are what shape them into who they become. I feel our responsibility as parents and teachers is to provide children with the best possible education, knowledge, and choices so they are able to grow to their maximum potential. I believe that children should be given the ability to become independent individuals by setting limits with positive discipline, praise, and encouragement. More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I have worked with children for a big majority of my life, starting as a babysitter moving onto a nanny. During Middle school and High school I took many courses such as Child Development, Careers with Children, and Lifetime Nutrition and Wellness that have increased my knowledge of children and their growth throughout life. During my Careers with Children class I helped run a daycare within our school and assisted a 2nd grade teacher. I have watched children ranging in ages newborn to 15 years old.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I love being outdoors and enjoying the sun. On days that the weather is nice, the playground,a splash pad, playing ball, tag, or just a nice walk around the block are my go to. On days where it's not so nice out, activities like board games, watching a movie that will have all of the children's attention, and many more activities.

The most important part about being a nanny...

A good nanny is a secure, loving base for children whose parents have to or choose to work the long hours. Children will rely on you and your opinions, it’s extremely important that you are a good role model at all times. How you behave to the children and others around you will have a direct impact on child’s behaviour.

My experience with special needs children...

I have cared for children with special needs such as down syndrome and autism. I absolutely loved the experience and created a great bong with children with special needs.

The most important part about being a nanny...

An 8 year old girl I watched, who had just lost her mother a few months prior, came to me when she woke up and gave me the biggest hug and said " I'm really happy you're here." later that day while I was making lunch for her and her brother, she said to me " I really like that you're part of our family now, it's like I have a big sister." This little moment gave me so much joy and made me realize why I love watching children.
