I believe the most important thing about being a nanny is to first and foremost make sure the kids are safe and healthy. But being happy is just as important! I will do anything in my power to make your kids laugh and look forward to me coming over again. I don't want the kids to feel like they are being "watched", they should feel like they have a best friend and a nanny all in one!
The most important part about being a nanny...
One of my favorite memories from being a nanny in the past is one day, one of the kiddos I was watching got super startled by the sprinklers going off in the yard because she got splashed. I made sure she was okay of course, but then I ran through them myself to show her she didn't have to be scared! She started uncontrollably laughing at me being goofy in the sprinklers! Her sister joined in, and within seconds she thought running through the sprinklers was the best thing ever! Lots of laughter and she would ask every time after that if we could do it again.
