Not to over step the boundaries set for them. Also making sure the children know that you are there for them if they ever need you, through both your words and actions.
My experience with special needs children...
I am going to college for an education degree I have just taken a course last semester on how to work work children with special needs. As well as I have family members with them as well so I'm not unfamiliar or uncomfortable being with children that need a little more help or attention.
The most important part about being a nanny...
I was watching this little girl teaching her how to swim and she was doubting herself and yet without her even realizing it she had swam the whole way across the pool and I was so proud of her and she was so excited. When her dad came back she did it again with more confidence to show him. It was beautiful.
