Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
I was a lifeguard for the past two years, I worked six days out of the seven every week from 10 am to 7 pm alone and monitored kids from ages 1-18, I’ve been able to develop skills to make sure kids are safe at all times, to care for them if they get hurt, and build relationships with everyone who entered the pool area!
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I absolutely love going outside with children, running around, playing with them. If it gets too cold I love arts and crafts as well as watching movies, playing board games, and baking as my mom always baked with me when I was a kid.
My experience with special needs children...
When I was in kindergarten I was paired with an amazing girl who was paralyzed with autism, and blind as well but she ended up being one of my best friends and still is up until this day!
From grades 6-10 Ive also been a student mentor for kids with all kinds of disabilities and Ive been able to understand frustrations and meltdowns and have been able to gather some sensory play activities that Ive used with some of the students who happened to have a bad day which we all know that everyone has a bad day sometimes and that’s okay!
I plan to go to school to become a special education teacher someday, as I enjoy working with special needs children very much!
