A little bit about me

Hey there, my name is Carmen. I used to be a tax accountant for Dutch Bros Coffee, but I have finally come to terms with the fact that accounting is not for me. I do not have previous nanny experience, but I am more than familiar taking care of others and being attentive to special needs. I recently was a full-time live-in caretaker for my non-bio grandpa who had stage four lymphoma. That experience not only proved to me that I feel an affirming sense of purpose when I am directly caring for another, but that I do really well despite the unique stressors that come with. My biggest passions are cooking from scratch foods and making ceramics. I graduated from SOU in 2018 with a degree in Psychology where I served my senior capstone at Maslow Project in their art studio with an emphasis in art therapy. I know enough Spanish to get by, but I do not consider myself fluent yet. I received my Adult and Pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED certificate on July 31st 2021.
