A little bit about me

I’m a 23 y/o caregiver w/ 8 yrs of paid childcare experience. I’ve worked with kids of all ages, from newborns to teenagers, and I have a special passion for supporting children w/ special needs, including those with autism and learning disabilities. I’m comfortable caring for up to 4 children at a time and am always patient, creative, and ready to adapt to what your family needs.

Currently I am looking for a minimum of 20 hours a week and/or as needed work. I have a pretty flexible schedule starting ASAP until July 31st due to the school year starting. After that date I am open to per diem/as needed opportunities (either old or new!).

I love crafting and finding fun, engaging activities to keep children entertained and learning. I’d love the opportunity to work with your family and provide a safe, nurturing, and fun environment for your kids to thrive!

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I hold a Bachelor of Science degree and have hands-on experience teaching and working with Pre-K and Kindergarteners, elementary special education, and high school students (9th-12th grades).

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I enjoy both indoor and outdoor activities. I'm big on developmental and sensory play—some of my favorite sensory activities include playing with kinetic sand, water beads, and homemade playdough, as well as creating sensory bins tailored to different themes or textures. As a creative person, I love DIY projects and making crafts with my two boys, like painting, seasonal art, homemade slime, or building with recycled materials. In my free time I enjoy going on walks, hiking, visiting parks, and exploring nature. I often take my boys exploring to different playgrounds and parks around town to keep things exciting. I also enjoy sports—especially basketball and badminton—and you can’t forget the classic game of four square!

My experience with special needs children...

Overall I have 8 years of experience caring for children of all ages, including those with special needs such as autism, ADHD, and learning disabilities. My experience includes both professional and personal settings. I’ve worked one semester as a Special Education Instructional Assistant for elementary students in grades K–5, supporting students with IEPs through academic assistance, behavior redirection, and social-emotional development. I also taught a semester at the high school level with 80 out of the 160 students on my roster held IEPs and/or 504 plans, both of which with accommodations. At home, I’ve helped care for my older brother and my nephew, who are both on the autism spectrum. These personal experiences have deepened my understanding, patience, and ability to adapt to a wide range of needs. I strive to create a consistent, supportive environment where every child feels valued and empowered.
