A little bit about me

My name is Cassie, I’m 39yrs old and a mom to 3 amazing kids! two older boys(19&16) and a daughter(11) my oldest son was born with a rare liver disease and major heart problems, so I’ve learned a lot with him over the years. I have been a Med Aid and Caregiver for the elderly for 6 and a half years now. When my boys were younger they were in scouts, and I was very involved. I was a den leader for two years, I was in charge of the popcorn fundraiser one year, and I was on the committee as the event’s coordinator as well. I’m a fast learner when it comes to figuring out routines and schedules to fit individual situations. I’m great at multi tasking and more than anything, I just love being a mom and my kids don’t need me as much anymore, so I have a lot of time on my hands now.

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

About three years ago, I babysat two children in my home for about seven months before we moved. Never really worked at a facility with children, but I started babysitting at the age of 9 and I’ve been a mom for 19 years.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I love getting the kids outdoors as much as I can(age and weather permitting, of course) I’m very anti screen time! Just FYI lol I love doing arts and crafts with the kiddos and getting them involved in preparing their meals. Reading is something I do a lot as well, all three of my kids have been big book nerds.

My experience with special needs children...

I have a lot of experience with special needs kids, one major one being that my oldest son was born with a rare liver disease and heart issues which caused a lot of other physical complications and mental health issues and he and my middle son are on the Autism spectrum. My work with the elderly and the extensive cognitive and physical ailments they presented with on a daily basis that I had to manage, I feel is in many ways transferable to children with special needs.
